Business Process Manager Daisy speaks

At Whitevision, we do our best every day to help our clients as well as we can. But who are our employees, really? And what do they think of working at Whitevision?

In this article, Daisy tells us how she finds fulfilment in her dual role: “I think it’s really great that I support clients and also contribute to our close-knit, well-functioning team!”

What does an average working day look like for you?

“To be honest, every day is different for me. Sometimes I work through a list of smaller tasks. But it can also happen that I discuss a larger project with my manager. I also spend a lot of time answering questions from my colleagues. They regularly submit requests to me about making our work processes easier or about processes in the client portal. When handling those, I always ask myself one overarching question, which reflects Whitevision’s philosophy well: ‘Can we make this process simpler and more efficient?’”

How do you approach your role?

“As a Business Process Manager, I work on setting up our internal work processes. I make my colleagues’ work as easy as possible, so they have more time to engage with our clients. I also make sure clients can find us quickly and easily by continuously optimising the setup of our client portal. All of this work is in line with Whitevision’s mission: to rid the world of repetitive work.”

“Of course, satisfied employees lead to satisfied clients.”

One of Whitevision’s guiding principles is ‘long-term relationships with satisfied clients’. How do you see this reflected in practice?

“This principle starts internally. Whitevision wants to retain employees by creating a good working environment. They must be able to develop their potential here and do things they enjoy. I contribute to this by taking the more boring work off my colleagues’ hands. At the same time, I make sure everything is properly documented.”

“In addition, the pleasant atmosphere can be felt in every area. It starts with the layout, which is entirely geared towards good working posture: we have a beautiful office with sitting and standing desks. Within that space, everyone thrives. We all want to learn from each other and help each other. And Whitevision invests in our growth. That translates to our clients, because well-trained people are better able to help clients. And of course, satisfied employees lead to satisfied clients.”

At Whitevision, it’s important that you can work independently and also want to collaborate. How do you see the balance between the two reflected in your work?

“There is nobody else in the organisation who does a job like mine, so I work very independently. At the same time, I do nothing for myself. My tasks are all aimed at facilitating my colleagues’ work. That’s why it’s essential for me to seek out collaboration in every phase of the process. For example, once I’ve implemented an optimisation, I always check whether the result matches my colleague’s (or colleagues’) expectations.”

“This close way of working fits Whitevision very well. You really need a drive to join forces here, because that’s the only way to achieve something. By aligning with colleagues, you create support. This involves colleagues both within and outside your own team. Our processes are very closely connected. An order, for example, is handled by the sales team, the administration, the project planning, the consultants and the support team. Everyone must be able to see all the steps taken in every phase of the process. By avoiding silos, we can help the client as well as possible. And that is our shared goal.”

“Whitevision really looks at what you enjoy and tries to match that. There is plenty of room to broaden your development.”

How does Whitevision support people in their development?

“Whitevision really looks at what you enjoy and tries to match that. There is plenty of room to broaden your development: you can focus on your interests. Some consultants, for example, see giving webinars as a creative challenge. If you say that such tasks give you energy and that this is where your strength lies, Whitevision will look for opportunities together with you. In my experience, Whitevision is an employer that is open to your ideas. Not everything is possible, but you are listened to properly. You can think along, and that helps you grow.”

“Everyone in the Whitevision team is also very eager to learn. Continuously developing our software and growing as an organisation suits us. With every action, we ask ourselves: ‘Why are we doing it this way at the moment?’ One answer is unacceptable: ‘Because we’ve always done it this way.’ We always look at whether there is a way to approach things even better and smarter. That’s how we keep optimising!”

Does Whitevision give you the opportunity to pursue your ambitions?

“Absolutely! Eight years ago, I started at Whitevision in the inside sales team. Within six months, I moved up to the role of Office Manager. In that role, I was able to develop so well. When I made my passions and interests known, Whitevision gave me the chance to put more emphasis on them within my role. As a result, I gave my role a new shape. Where my predecessor, for example, outsourced a lot of application-related work, I took on such tasks myself because I enjoy working on them. I’m now a Business Process Manager, which has given me more room to spend time on the things I enjoy and, as a result, add more value for Whitevision.”

Have you ever come up with a concept that is now a best practice at Whitevision?

“Setting up a work process involves a lot. When a new colleague joins, for example, you have to complete many tasks, from requesting software licences to ordering the right equipment. You can keep separate task lists in Excel, but that’s far from efficient. That’s why I created a handy checklist in our ERP system for the onboarding of new employees. We also keep track of other processes here, including those of the project administration. I created a similar checklist for that as well.”

“As a result, my colleagues have to do less manual work. And they keep an overview at all times. So the checklist has become a best practice for several processes!”
