Consultant Karlijn speaks

At Whitevision, we do our best every day to help our clients as well as we can. But who are our employees, really? And what do they think of working at Whitevision?

In this article, Karlijn Verhoeven talks about her role as a consultant. “Every day, I work on building long-term relationships with clients and contribute to optimising their processes. At Whitevision, I can be myself in a close-knit, innovative team.”

Innovation and ambition are important at Whitevision. How do you see this reflected in your work?

“When I guide clients through the implementation process, I think along with them in an innovative way. After all, you’re aiming for results that last in the long term. During implementations, I take them through the transition to the digital process, in which repetitive tasks are automated as much as possible. An important starting point is that they need to become familiar with it. Everyone has their own level of knowledge; the challenge is to achieve the maximum result for each employee in their work with the use of our software solutions.”

“At Whitevision, we all have that mindset. Whitevision also supports this by making sure I’m able to play to my strengths and do my work well.”

Why do you enjoy working at Whitevision?

“My roots are in project management, and for the past ten years I’ve focused on projects within digital work processes. In addition to the technical implementation, I also focus on the human side of making automation your own. Whitevision offers me everything I’m looking for in this: long-term client contact, smart technology and great colleagues. That combination was the reason for me to switch to consultancy.”

“There are also other factors that make working at Whitevision special. Among other things, the activities that Whitevision organises alongside work, such as a visit to Breda Live and the annual summer barbecue. Because you also meet each other in a different setting, this creates extra connection. That way, you know you can turn to each other, both inside and outside the office walls.”

“I can be myself at Whitevision, in a close and innovative team.”

What does an average working week look like for you?

“Monday is our ‘homecoming day’: everyone is at our office in Breda and we schedule our internal meetings. During lunch, we eat together and share knowledge and experiences from all departments. Every quarter, we also discuss the organisation’s objectives so that everyone is heading in the same direction and contributes extra where needed.”

“The rest of the week, I’m at clients’ sites to guide them through the implementation, from setup to go-live. But it also happens that I’m at the office or working from home. Sometimes I call a client to solve a problem. At other times, I start an optimisation or migration project at a client’s request, or I consult with colleagues when there are questions about invoice processing within 4PS.”

One of Whitevision’s guiding principles is ‘long-term relationships with satisfied clients’. How do you see this reflected in practice?

“Attention to the client is central to us. We want to put people in their strength. By taking repetitive and recurring work off their hands, we make sure they get more time for the work that truly requires their expertise. But some people find change quite exciting. During implementation, we also look at their own pace and how far we go in automating processes. If a company wants to keep control of certain things itself (for now), we arrange that. Our technology offers many possibilities for this.”

“What also strengthens client relationships is that every client has one point of contact at Whitevision. I notice that you really build a bond this way. You get to know each other and know what to expect from each other. As a result, the client lets you ‘in’ to their way of working; this trust is a wonderful thing to receive.”

“Whitevision gives me the freedom to choose my workplace depending on the work I’m doing.”

To what extent do you feel Whitevision achieves its aim of being a top employer?

“What appeals to me is that Whitevision doesn’t just state this aim, but really acts on it. This shows in the support Whitevision offers, including on a personal level. An example: Mondays are busy at the office, which makes it sometimes difficult to make calls. Whitevision saw that as an opportunity and gave all of us good headphones. That has made my work so much easier.”

“Whitevision gives me this freedom to choose my workplace depending on the work I’m doing. So I also work from home now and then. And if something doesn’t go quite the way it should, I can always turn to my colleagues. I have a bi-weekly meeting with my manager anyway, but if I need something in between, I can always say so.”

At Whitevision, the combination of working independently and wanting to collaborate is central. Does that balance also exist in your role?

“Whitevision gives you the confidence to do projects independently. But if you want to bounce ideas off colleagues, that option is always there. When you start working here, you also get a buddy who shows you the ropes. For me, this definitely made a difference. When you shadow someone and experience a project yourself, you really feel what it’s like to work on it. Gradually, more and more parts fall under your responsibilities, and eventually you get your own projects.”

“By the way, I received a very warm welcome. Although I wasn’t due to start until 1 October, I was already invited to the annual barbecue in the summer to meet everyone. I thought that was special. And the good feeling only grew stronger when I actually started at Whitevision.”

What does it mean to be part of the Whitevision team?

“For me, it’s of great added value. My colleagues are lovely people who have expertise in all relevant areas. With my own team, I can bounce ideas off each other about client questions that are specifically about 4PS. And when it’s necessary to align processes, other colleagues are available too. Our lines of communication are always short.”

“The team is very open and approachable. Everyone contributes to the development of Whitevision. I find it very rewarding to be part of that and to make my own contribution.”
